There’s no doubt that Park Güell is one of the most beautiful icons in Barcelona, and if you’re going to this city you must not miss the chance to visit it. It’s located in the upper side area of Barcelona, from there you’ll have a great sightseeing and extraordinary views of the city.
The Park Güell was built between 1900 and 1914 and originally was a luxury housing site project, for those who wanted the most comfortable houses and with an incredible high quality details. The project was developed by the business man Eusebi Güell and the arquitech was the famous Antoni Gaudí.
Nevertheless, the political instability of the time could be the responsible for the complex turned out to be a disaster, since they made 60 parcels and didn’t sell practically any. After Count Güell’s death, his heirs decided to sell the park to the Barcelona’s city hall to make it public, and now everyone can visit it.

How to get to Park Güell from City Center
As we said before, the Park Güell is located far from the city center, on a hill overlooking the city of Barcelona. The best way to get there is to go by public transport, because there are no parking zones close to the Park.
– By metro: you can take L3 (the green one) from any station in the city center (Plaça Espanya, Poble Sec, Paral.lel, Liceu, Plaça Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, Diagonal, among others) and get off in Vallcarca station. From there you just have to follow the indications of the tourist panels.
– By bus: you can use the lines 24 – 31 – 32 – H6 – 92 – Bus del barri 112 – Tourist Blue Line (Bus turístic), and then follow the tourist panels.

Timetables and prices
Since 25th October 2013, you have to pay an entrance fee to access the monumental area of the Park Güell.
You can but tickets online or at the ticket offices of the Park itself, but you’ll get best prices if you buy them online:
